RHSOC Investment Justification Prioritization List Needs to be done by July 16!!
In an effort to enhance disaster preparedness within the state while maximizing the limited amount of training resources available, SEMA has distributed an on-line Training Needs Assessment Tool designed to identify any gaps or unmet needs in training. The use of this tool will allow the targeting of training funds to the areas of most need. We know your time is valuable and we appreciate your assistance with the completion of the survey. The SEMA Training Needs Survey has been distributed to the RHSOC Points of Contact. The POC have been requested to not only complete their own survey responses, but to forward the survey on to the designee of the eleven specific disciplines within their jurisdiction for response. Only forward the survey to jurisdictions with 3000 or more population. It is important that all eleven disciplines (or as many of the disciplines that the jurisdiction has) have an opportunity to respond to the survey in order that their own specific training needs can be documented. Every effort should be made to ensure that all agencies or response organizations have filled out their portions appropriately. In addition this year we have also distributed the SEMA Training Needs Survey to select state agencies. We are asking that they take the time to complete the survey to help us determine their agency needs. Upon completion of the survey (July 25, 2007), SEMA will tabulate the totals and respond back to the individual jurisdictions with the results as well as provide a list of those training classes available that best answer the needs as expressed by the disciplines within that jurisdiction. The POC’s can then select from that list, prioritizing those courses deemed most necessary within their respective areas and annually request training courses through their SEMA Area Coordinator. This assessment will not only assist the local jurisdiction with the identification of their training needs, but also allows the state to gain an accurate view of the training needs or weaker areas within regions and the entire state. SEMA can then schedule training classes specifically identified to answer those needs of the responder organizations in their regions. The survey can be accessed using the following link: http://survey.dps.mo.gov. The user ID is: SemaSurvey and the password is: Survey2007. The user ID and password are case sensitive. Information obtained by this survey will allow for the most efficient and effective management of our training resources throughout the State of Missouri. SEMA will utilize this method annually to track the success of the training effort, identify any additional training gaps, and as a continual evaluation of the training mission. Supplemental training request form The list of courses that SEMA has either conducted or sponsored within the state is available for your review at http://training.dps.mo.gov/. |
